About Course

This course takes you through the process of creating a site on WPEngine. We will install the Genesis Pro theme then import a demo which we’ll customize.

You will learn some basic customization skills, as well as content editing and page management.

A brief overview of what will be covered in the course, as well as some information about the platform we'll be using.

Signing Up and Logging into WordPress
This section will take you through the process of signing up to WPEngine. Then we will go through setting up your Wordpress login on your new site.

Installing Genesis Framework and Theme
This section covers the process of downloading and installing the Genesis Framework, installing a child theme and demo content.

Overview of Website Changes, and Updating the Brand
In this section, we'll review the updates we'll be making. Then we'll update the logo and top callout bar.

Editing the Home page, About Page and Creating the Blog
This section covers edits to the home page as well as the creation of the Blog page.

Editing the Contact page, and Navigation
In this section we'll create a contact page, with a working contact form. Then we'll update the navigation menu to reflect the site structure and pages.
